Be the best version of yourself

It’s time to smile again and be inspired to be the best version of yourself. I love films, right from when I was a child; watching movies with my siblings, then my wife and family, at the Cinema, Netflix, TV. The best is having quality time watching a great movie with my best mate and wife Jummy.

If like me you are a Christian and true to your values you would have noticed how difficult it is to watch clean movies that are not full of obscenities, cursing, blasphemy, fornication/ adultery. Promoting soft as well as hard porn. I have many unfinished movies as I can’t complete watching them as they are simply defiling to the spirit and offensive to my Heavenly Father. If you want to be strong in the Lord and in the power of His might. You have choices to make. You have an audience of One. “Do not be so deceived and misled! Evil companionships (communion, associations) corrupt and deprave good manners and morals and character.” (1 Corinthians 15:33 AMPC)

That’s why discovering Tyler Perry’s films on Netflix was a refreshing breath of fresh air. If you haven’t seen his movies, search for them. “Why did I get married?”, “Why did I get married too?” “Diary of a mad black woman”, , “Daddy’s little girls”, “Single mums club”. Tyler's films that I have watched are thought provoking, entertaining, informative, fun and inspiring.

It’s thrilling to see a Christian in the Entertainment industry refuse to sell his soul to the devil in exchange for fame and or money. It’s also inspiring to see a Christian who is mastering excellence as an actor, director, producer and very successful entrepreneur. It’s claimed that he is the most successful black entertainer in history. I encourage you to share this with your sphere of influence; young or more experienced as the young ladies in my life diplomatically refer to me.

Tyler has done it and is still doing it God’s way and it’s not a fairy tale as Tyler Perry has gone through his fair share of life’s knocks, betrayals, disappointments, setbacks and the like. It’s amazing to witness a Christian who has refused to compromise his faith so far and is very successful; a dollar billionaire who is not ashamed of proclaiming the gospel. I have to put a proviso as Apostle Paul famously did. Follow me as I follow Christ. So if you notice Tyler or any other person not living up to the high calling they profess, remember Christ is our eternal standard not any man or woman. “Imitate me, just as I also imitate Christ.” (I Corinthians 11:1 NKJV)
